La Founderie is a curated vintage and designer boutique established in the midst of Little Italy on Saint-Laurent Boulevard, just a little bit north of Beaubien. Walking into this store is quite an adventure since they carry very unique pieces, nothing to do with your usual Renaissance or Village des Valeurs ! From women and men clothing and accessories to home decorations, La Founderie is a real gem that can provide something for everyone. What’s even more cool is that they buy your old clothes or give you store credit for it, which is, let’s be honest, almost heaven for any fashion hoarders!

Nicolas Jaar is an American-Chilean producer that is definitely worth your attention. Born and based in New York, and having lived in Santiago, Chile, Nicolas Jaar is not your usual electronic dance music artist. His sounds are inspired by House and Techno music but have very slow BPM (beats per minute) compared to the standard, creating a fluid and dreamy atmosphere to his music. He also has his own record label called Clown & Sunset and was featured on BBC RADIO 1′s essential mix, which was voted best essential mix of the year 2012. So here’s some of our favorite tracks by this amazing artist!

Also, make sure you listen to this with proper speakers or headphones, because the bass is incredible and your laptop speakers simply won’t deliver all the goodness!

Like every year, IGLOOFEST is an ESSENTIAL activity on our winter itinerary. Not only because it (finally) takes our ass out of our cozy homes, but because it’s the perfect occasion to get all together with the crew and dance like crazy on some dope beats! I mean seriously… What’s better than Igloofest to conquer the famous “seasonal depression” ? Okay yeah, maybe a trip to a hot and sunny destination, we hear you…But you got Igloofest for only 18,50$… which, let’s face it, is muuuuuuuuuuch better for your wallet!

Plus, this Saturday, January 26th, some of our favourite DJS will be on deck, including Kaytranada, Tronald Trump, and TNGHT ( A duo made up of legendary Hudson Mohawke and Lunice)… That’s a party you definitely do NOT want to miss! And while you get your Igloofest swag/one piece suit ready, here’s a little something to remind you of how easy it is to have fun even when it’s -30 celcius!

Aether is a renowned sportswear brand mixing high tech fabrics with refined aesthetics. Originally based in L.A, Aether just recently opened a new Flagship Store in Hayes Valley, San Francisco, with a breath taking take on architecture and interior design. The video below shows how the shop was built, and we think it’s pure genius. Also, fun fan, it is built on Hayes Street, literally a block away from where we used to work this summer, and maybe 3-4 blocks away from our apartment…  Oh well, it will be for next time then!

We’ve been in love with them since day one, and featured their first commercial single “Your Drums, You Love” in our BEST OF 2012 Playlist. Recognized and critically acclaimed as a dynamic electronic music duo, AlunaGeorge’s influences go from sugar sweet, pop, and soulful vocals, to garage, dubstep, and bass beats. It’s the type of music that simply flows effortlessly and makes you want to groove… Perfect to start your week off the right foot!

With a flood of boots on the market today, it can be difficult to find a boot that doesn’t make you seem like you are trying too hard.

Clarks desert boots have become a staple among young adult men as casual everyday shoe that is comfortable and versatile timeless classic. The Trooper takes the classic desert boot to another level with a dynamic crepe outer sole. The high tred sole is bold and rugged but its refined quality compliments the bees waxed leather upper.

The Trooper begins to wonder into the more rugged which gives it a new character. I like how it is starting to look more like a work boot without all the bulkiness. I also appreciate that the shoe remains a chukka and not a tall combat boot.

This shoe is a no brainer, pick up a pair. They also come in black!

Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) has just started a new serie of short documentaries on web-music movements and i’m sharing their very first one, a look into ”current renaissance of contemporary R&B in music”. In this first episode, called “Don’t call it #AltRnB”, RBMA is exploring the world and vision of different artists like Zodiac, How to dress well, singer Rochelle Jordan  and her producer KLSH and BadBadNotGood. You should definitely watch the second one and stay tuned for the others!
